🕯️ Candle safety essentials

1. Never leave candles unattended

Always extinguish candles before leaving a room, even for a short time.

Don’t fall asleep with candles still burning.

2. Keep away from anything flammable

Place candles at least a few inches away from curtains, paper, books, bedding, or furniture.

Avoid placing them near draughts that can cause flames to flicker or tip.

3. Use stable, heat-resistant holders

Always use a proper holder designed for candles.

Make sure it’s sturdy and won’t tip over easily.

Don’t burn candles directly on surfaces like shelves or baths.

4. Keep out of reach of children and pets

Curious hands or tails can easily knock candles over.

Consider flameless LED candles in busy households.

5. Trim the wick

Keep wicks short (around 5mm) to reduce smoking, soot, and large flames.

6. Don’t burn too long
